Killer Instinct Crossbow Warranty and Customer Service
New Killer Instinct crossbows carry a 2-year limited warranty for the original owner, activated only by registering the bow within 30 days of purchase. Strings, cables and bolts are not covered; scopes and limb dampeners get one year. Service goes through an authorized dealer or Killer Instinct's online service request form.
Everything below is taken from the Killer Instinct support FAQ and the official registration and support pages (October 2026). This site is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Killer Instinct.
What the warranty covers
| Item | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Crossbow (non-wearable parts) | 2-year limited warranty, original owner, registered within 30 days |
| Scopes | 1 year |
| Limb dampeners | 1 year |
| Strings and cables | Not covered (wear items) |
| Bolts | Not covered (wear items) |
| Labor for general maintenance or service | Not covered |
Some older Killer Instinct product listings still describe a "limited lifetime warranty". The current FAQ and the newest listings state 2 years, so check the documents that came with your crossbow if you bought it a few seasons ago.
How to register your crossbow
Registration is what activates the warranty. Per the official registration page:
- Register within 30 days of purchase using the form on kicrossbows.com.
- Only crossbows bought new from authorized resellers are eligible.
- You must be the original owner and provide proof of purchase.
Killer Instinct also notes that without registration it cannot send you important updates about your crossbow.
Where to find the serial number
Killer Instinct says the serial number is on the inside of the top limbs or on the stock, depending on the model. Write it down when you register: you will need it for any service request.
How to get service or make a warranty claim
- Authorized dealer: any authorized Killer Instinct dealer can service the bow. The official dealer locator is on kicrossbows.com.
- Killer Instinct technicians: submit the online Service & Warranty request form from the support or contact page.
- Shipping: on a warranty claim the customer pays shipping to the dealer or to Killer Instinct.
For the fastest route, request service online and include the model, serial number, proof of purchase and a photo of the problem.
Limb problems are the most common claim; the replacement limbs page explains the front-end assembly repair and its costs.
What can void the warranty
- Modifications or alterations, including film dipping the crossbow.
- Changing strings and cables yourself; Killer Instinct recommends an authorized dealer.
- Any work on the trigger or limb bolts not done by an authorized dealer. Triggers and limbs are not adjustable.
Shooting bolts below the minimum weight in your manual is also a common cause of damage. Check the bolt guide before you buy replacements.
Maintenance the FAQ expects from owners
| Task | How often |
|---|---|
| Wax strings and cables | Monthly in storage; every other outing when hunting |
| Lube the rail (rail lube, not string wax) | Every 4-6 shots |
| Replace string and cables | Every 2-3 years, or sooner with wear |
| Maximum time cocked | 8-12 hours, never overnight |
| String suppressor gap at rest | About 3/32 in (a credit card) |
The support page also offers a 3-year inspection form for owners to download.
To unload after a hunt, follow the de-cocking guide.
Recall: TriggerTech triggers on 2017 Furious 370 FRT and Machine FRT
Killer Instinct lists a recall for 2017 Furious 370 FRT and Machine FRT crossbows fitted with TriggerTech triggers with carbide rollers only. If you own one of these, review the recall document on kicrossbows.com to see whether your bow is affected. Other older models are covered on the discontinued crossbows page.
Returns on orders from the official store
For crossbows and parts bought directly from shop.kicrossbows.com, the returns policy allows cancellation within 24 hours if the order has not shipped, returns of unopened, new-condition items within 8 days with an RMA number, and no returns on crossbow kits that have been opened and assembled. Bows bought on Amazon or at a store follow that retailer's return policy, while the warranty still runs through Killer Instinct.
