Killer Instinct Crossbow Replacement Limbs
You cannot buy Killer Instinct limbs as a stand-alone part: none of the model spare-parts pages in the official store lists them. A cracked or damaged limb is replaced through Killer Instinct's warranty or service request, or by an authorized dealer with a crossbow press, and the repair also needs a new string and cables at the owner's expense.
Here is how that process works, which part numbers to quote, and what you can do yourself to avoid limb damage in the first place.
Why limbs are not sold as a loose part
Killer Instinct's manuals treat limbs as part of the front-end assembly: riser, limb set, cams, cables, string, suppressors and dampeners serviced together. The Burner 415 manual is explicit that a crossbow press and a qualified technician are required to change strings, cables, limbs or cam assemblies, and that limb bolts are factory set and must not be adjusted.
The Killer Instinct support FAQ adds that any work not done by an authorized Killer Instinct dealer will void the warranty, and that limbs are not adjustable. That is why the official store sells strings, cables, slides, quivers and stocks model by model, but not limbs.
Step 1: check whether you are still under warranty
According to the Killer Instinct support FAQ:
- New crossbows carry a 2-year limited warranty for the original owner.
- The warranty is activated only if you registered the bow within 30 days of purchase, from an authorized reseller, with proof of purchase.
- Strings, cables and bolts are wear items and are not covered.
- You pay return shipping on a warranty claim, whether the bow goes to a dealer or to Killer Instinct.
Some older product listings still mention a limited lifetime warranty, so check the paperwork that came with your bow. Full details are on the warranty and customer service page.
Step 2: request service
Killer Instinct handles limb problems through its online Service & Warranty request form on the support page, or through any authorized dealer. Have the model, serial number and proof of purchase ready. The serial number is on the inside of the top limb or on the stock, depending on the model.
Quoting the front-end assembly part number from your manual helps the technician confirm exactly which assembly your bow takes.
Front-end assembly and limb set part numbers from the manuals
These part numbers are printed in the parts lists of the Killer Instinct owner's manuals. A dash means the manual does not list that number separately.
| Model | Front-end assembly | Limb set |
|---|---|---|
| Lethal 405 | SPK-1000-FE | - |
| Boss 405 | SPK-1104-FE | - |
| Fierce 405 | SPK-1103-FE | - |
| Burner 415 | SPK-1106-FE | - |
| Rush 380 | SPK-1001-FE | - |
| KI 380X | SPK-1108-FE | SPK-1108-LS |
| Brawler | SPK-1102-FE | SPK-1102-LS |

| Bone Collector 370 (black) | SPK-1100B-FE | SPK-1100B-LS |
| SWAT XP | - | SPK-1120-LS |
Availability and pricing come from Killer Instinct customer service; the official online store does not list these assemblies for direct purchase.
What the repair costs you even under warranty
The support FAQ states that any repair to the front-end assembly requires new strings and cables, and that these are installed at the owner's expense. It estimates string and cable replacement at $100-120 plus labor, and notes that labor for general maintenance or service is not covered by the standard warranty.
If you are paying for a new string and cables anyway, it is worth ordering the right set for your model in advance. The strings page lists the options.
How to avoid limb damage
Many of the limb failures owners describe happen early, sometimes in the first shots. These rules from the manuals and the official FAQ cut the risk:
- Never dry fire and never shoot below the minimum arrow weight in your manual (370 grains for most models, 390 for the Diesel X, SWAT X1, Trauma X and Vital X, 400 for the SWAT XP).
- Do not leave the bow cocked longer than 8-12 hours.
- Check the string suppressor gap: about 3/32 inch, the width of a credit card, with the bow at rest.
- Wax strings and cables monthly in storage and every other outing in season; lube the rail every 4-6 shots.
- Do not loosen limb bolts to drop draw weight. The limbs are not adjustable.
If something already looks wrong, the troubleshooting guide covers common symptoms.
What owners report
Bought a killer instinct lethal 405. The front cracked where the limbs bolt onto the rail.
r/Crossbow
I just ordered a Killer Instinct boss 405 and I know they are notorious for limb failure. I read somewhere...

The replacement bow had the same limb issues after 6 shots. You can replace limbs on your own, though you'll never need to. Killer instinct has ...
r/bowhunting
Owners do describe doing limb swaps themselves, but the manual requires a press and a qualified technician, and unauthorized work voids the warranty. If the bow is under warranty, use the service route first.
