Discontinued Killer Instinct Crossbows: Parts and Replacements
Most older Killer Instinct crossbows are still supported: the official store keeps a spare-parts page for about 30 earlier models, from the Hero 380 and Brawler to the SWAT and Diesel X, with strings, cables, slides and cocking ropes. Owner's manuals for these bows are still published, so bolt minimums are known for most of them.

Older models, parts and bolt minimums
Strings and cables are as listed on each model's spare-parts page in the official Killer Instinct store; bolt minimums are from the owner's manuals. A dash means the manual's text could not be confirmed. The last column is a suggested current model with a similar speed and string family; a dash means we do not have enough official data to suggest one.

Which models share the same string
The official store lists a handful of string parts under many models, which is useful when you are hunting for a replacement:
- SPK-STRING-1 with SPK-CABLESET-1: Bone Collector 370, 405 and 415, KI 380X, Rush 380, HD405, HD 415 RDC, and also on the parts pages for the Lethal 405, Boss 405, Burner 415, Fuel 415, Fiery 400 and Motive 405.
- 37-inch replacement string: Hero 380, Machine, KI Series, Brawler 400, Rush 400, Speed 425, Ripper 415 and 425, Fierce 405.
- SPK-STRING-11 with the Vital/TemprX/FanatiX/LogiX cable set: the X-Cam bows, including Diesel X Elite and Trauma X alongside the current Tempr-X and LogiX 435.

Bolts for older Killer Instinct crossbows
Almost every older model takes a 20-inch bolt with a half-moon nock. The two exceptions to watch:
- SWAT XP needs 22-inch bolts of at least 400 grains. The Killer Instinct FAQ lists it as the exception that shoots SWAT XP Arc Nocks.
- SWAT X1, Diesel X and Trauma X call for at least 390 grains, heavier than the 370-grain HYPR Lite.
Everything else in the table allows 370 grains. Killer Instinct's FAQ says flat nocks should not be used, except on the SWAT Gen 1 and SWAT XP. See bolts and arrows for current 20-inch options.

Killer Instinct lists a recall for 2017 Furious 370 FRT and Machine FRT crossbows with TriggerTech triggers with carbide rollers only. If you own one, check the recall document on kicrossbows.com. Warranty and service details are on the warranty page.
Still for sale: older models with their own pages

Replacing an old Killer Instinct: how to pick the successor
- Bows on the same string families as the Lethal and Boss (Hero 380, Brawler, Rush, Bone Collector, KI 380X): the Lethal 405 HD, Boss 405 or Burner 415 keep the same layout with more speed.
- Narrow bows (SWAT X1, Diesel X, Trauma X): the 2024 catalog lists the SWAT X1 Elite and Diesel X at 6.25 inches wide cocked, and the Diesel X and Trauma X share the X-Cam string. The Tempr-X and other X-Cam models are 6.75 inches wide cocked.
- 425 FPS bows (Speed 425, Ripper 425): the current fast compound is the Rapid 420; the LogiX 435 is faster still.
